Sergio Garrido
Global Languages & Music
Sergio Garrido teaches Spanish, French, and Music at AESA Prep Academy. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in Philosophy from the University of Texas at Tyler. A native Spanish speaker who began studying French at the age of four, Sergio brings a rich multilingual and multicultural perspective to the classroom. He also has a strong background in music, with years of piano and drum experience and a deep love for classical, rock, and jazz.

Before joining AESA, Sergio served as a teaching assistant in college, a camp counselor with ATX Kids Club, and an academic consultant with Cram Crew in Austin, where he helped high school students prepare for college. His passion for education began early, shaped by inspiring teachers and a love for learning that naturally led him to share knowledge with others. Sergio believes that true teaching is not about knowing the most in the room, but being the best learner among others.

At AESA, Sergio hopes to help students develop real, practical language skills and discover the joy of communication through culture and conversation. His weekends are often spent enjoying homemade meals, reading philosophy or theology, meditating to classical music, and catching up with loved ones. Though his family lives in Colombia, their love and encouragement remain central to his journey as both an educator and a lifelong learner.
