Sciences & Volleyball

I am so excited to join the AESA Family this upcoming school year! A bit of history about me, I was born and raised in Houston, TX, an avid learner and passionate about Science from a very young age. I attended Cypress Ridge High School taking AP classes,  played violin in the school’s orchestra (played violin 6-12th grades). Alongside all this I participated in Tech Theatre in the drama department. Volleyball was a huge piece of my life, earning a spot on our varsity team as a sophomore. Outside of school I was apart of Houston Junior’s volleyball club from 7-12th grades. I graduated H.S. with Math Honors and in the top 8% of my high school class. I am very proud of spending summers in Science enrichment camps including one at Rice University and attended summer classes at Carnegie Mellon University as rising senior!

In 2016, I attended Texas State University where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology with a minor in biochemistry. While in college I was selected to be a teachers assistant and grader for the Chemistry Department for about 3 and a half years. I would say this is where my educational journey started however I was known for leading book clubs and tutoring since grade school among friends ! I encourage you to ask me about the funniest responses I’ve seen in my career.

I graduated Texas State in June of 2020, being dropped into the second wave of the pandemic. I quickly got a job in Microbiology at Curative, where it was our mission to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Here I personally processed about 50,000 COVID samples for diagnosis. Following this, I continued work in other COVID/R&D labs, ThermoFisher, and a clinical trial lab. I absolutely love being hands on in the lab. and have learned so much from so many amazing colleagues. The different wonders and challenges that come from organisms we cannot see with our eyes always amazes me.

I entered the teaching world in 2023, as a Private High School Biology Teacher at Austin Waldorf teaching Science and Math along with providing tutoring to enrich students’ in both those foundations. My second year at Waldorf, I was hired as the Junior Varsity Coach. Under incredible leadership we had a winning season. My most recent educational role was with Magnolia Montessori helping them jump start their middle school Science Department in 2025 teaching middle school Science including labs. This past year, I started my first year coaching club volleyball. I am the 13 National and 15 Regional Coach at DS Elite with Dripping Springs Sports Club. I was honored with Head Coach of the Year this past season.
