David Leal

Physical Education & Spanish
Athletics Director pf Coaching

David Leal, a dynamic educator and Athletics Director of Coaching at AESA Prep Academy, brings a wealth of experience to his dual role in teaching physical education and Spanish. His career began in 2003 as the Director of Junior Tennis at Cimmaron Country Club in Mission, Texas, where he honed his skills over 17 years. David transitioned into education in 2020 at AESA, leveraging his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from The University of Texas–Pan American and his certifications in Kinesiology and Spanish to inspire students both in the classroom and on the field.

Raised in McAllen, Texas, David’s early recognition of his ability to connect with children and his belief in the transformative power of education led him to teach. He takes pride in achievements such as helping students secure tennis scholarships, fostering a robust culture of fitness and sports at AESA, and turning AESA's middle school soccer team into undefeated champions. Inspired by his selfless parents, David aims to create an engaging learning environment that promotes character development and personal growth.

His weekends are filled with family, breakfast tacos, and playing with vintage synthesizers. David is also grateful for the close-knit bond with his family, including his brother Diego, who also teaches at AESA, making their collaboration a professional and personal joy.
