Kimberley Mitchell-James

Kimberly Mitchell-James joins the AESA faculty teaching science and mathematics. She holds an M.S. from Johns Hopkins University, a B.S. from Southern New Hampshire University, and an Associate of Science in Biomedical Sciences, she is also pursuing a Doctor of Education in Applied Learning Sciences at the University of Miami.

Originally from the twin-island country of Trinidad and Tobago, Kimberley brings a diverse perspective to her academic and professional pursuits.
With a career spanning both military service and academia. A deep passion for STEM education and inclusivity in curriculum design drives her. As a former instructor in the United States Air Force, she has been recognized for her contributions to the biomedical career field. She is a proud mentor and speaker for programs such as C-Stream, affiliated with the Smithsonian's Chesapeake Research Consortium.

Kimberley's proudest achievements include her ongoing doctoral candidacy, academic accomplishments, and the countless students she has mentored who have excelled in STEM careers worldwide. She attributes her dedication to education to her upbringing and the influential figures, including her mother, who instilled in her a belief in limitless possibilities and resilience in the face of challenges.

Kimberley enjoys cooking, all things water, and traveling. Her commitment to making STEM subjects accessible and enjoyable for all learners underscores her unique approach in the classroom, where her vibrant personality and distinctive sneaker collection are as memorable as her transformative impact on students' educational journeys.
