studyinggirlsAESA Prep Academy takes pride in the individual attention our students receive on a daily basis. It is our small environment and our average of a 5:1 student/teacher ratio that allows us to provide this individual attention to a degree that far surpasses the traditional larger public and private school environment. We are here to ensure our students are fully prepared for college and to not set them up in a “sink or swim” environment. This tenet is reflected in our admissions process as well.

Head of School Barbara Garza personally takes the time and makes the effort to meet individually with prospective students and their families. Based upon the family’s personal schedule, tours of AESA and interviews are arranged. The goal of the admissions process is to determine whether AESA is the best fit for the student and their parents, as well as for AESA.

AESA Prep Academy values the supportive, nurturing environment we have established for our students and their families. We value our family oriented community and welcome students and parents that are searching for a positive and mutually supportive community. AESA students are goal oriented and are here to pursue their dreams of entering the college or university of their choice. We strive to uncover and fill in all educational gaps, to prepare our students for the SAT and ACT through our intensive AESA Writing Lab and AESA Test Prep courses, to ensure they have many college and university choices and transition very well into their first years of college.

If you are interested in having your child apply to AESA, please follow the steps listed below. Welcome to the AESA Prep Academy Admissions Process!!

Step One of the Admissions Application Process

To begin the Admissions Process, please contact Head of School, Barbara Garza to set up an appointment to meet and discuss the possibility of your child or children attending AESA Prep Academy.

To be on the waiting list for grade levels that have openings, a family and their child will need to complete this admissions application process and then submit a nonrefundable fee of $25.00. If the child is enrolled in AESA, the $25.00 fee will be credited to their tuition payment.

Step Two of the Admissions Application Process

All student candidates are required to shadow for one day at AESA, with the exception of summer admissions applications. The starting time of the shadow day may begin at the regular school day time of 8:30 am or it may start as late as 10:00 am, depending upon what best suites the prospective family. The AESA school day ends at 3:00 pm and students are encouraged to stay until the end of the regular school day.

After a shadow day is scheduled, students are invited to complete the AESA Application to bring with them on the day they shadow. Students may bring their “Shadow Day Contact Information” form with them on their shadow day. The 2017-2018 admissions application is under Downloads on the Admissions tab.

Step Three of the Admissions Application Process

After a successful student shadow day and interview, the candidate and their parents will be invited to complete the rest of the application process.

To complete this process, academic and behavior reports for the past two years are required, as well as letters of recommendation from a current teacher and a previous teacher. If a student has any testing results, we would like for you to turn those in as well.

If the student candidate has a passion outside of school a letter of recommendation from their coach, trainer, or instructor would be very helpful as well. Any additional letters of reference that the parents would like to submit will be considered.

Once the admissions application process has been completed parents will be notified by phone and email with our admittance decision. We are looking at our student candidates on an individual basis and not comparing them to a group of students, therefore we are able to give our prospective families a decision in a relatively short period of time.

Deposit for the School Year

Once a student has been invited to be a student at AESA Prep Academy and has officially accepted, a $1,000.00 deposit is required to hold the student’s position here at AESA. Once the deposit and signed contract have been received, the student will officially be accepted as an AESA Prep Academy student and their position will be secure for the upcoming school year.

Good luck and thank you for your interest in AESA Prep Academy!!
